Some impressive away performances mean Phoenix currently sit sixth in the BBL table despite just one win at home all season in the league. Cheshire originally began life as Ellesmere Port Jets in 1986, joining the NBL Division Two and having a poor first season as they won just one of their eighteen games. An improvement the following season saw them win seven games, and they changed their name to Cheshire Jets – though they remained based in Ellesmere Port. They continued to improve, and lifted their first title in 1991, winning the NBL Division One.HEAD COACHJohn Lavery – Lavery takes control of the Phoenix one again following the departure of John Coffino over the summer. Dysfunctional Georgia could be nearing big football changes

Posted on 0 comment

first_imgThe personality conflict between Pruitt and Richt stands at the center of Georgia’s failed season. Pruitt, who came up from the Nick Saban tree and was Jimbo Fisher’s defensive coordinator in 2013 at Florida State, was given wide latitude to improve the program from its recruiting operation to autonomy over several coaching hires. But as Georgia has continued to lose, the intense and brash Pruitt has butted heads with the laid-back Richt, who has never been a fan of the idea that Alabama influence has become pervasive in his program. A lot of the blame internally has also been directed toward offensive line coach Rob Sale, who was hand-picked by Pruitt but has coached a unit that underperformed despite high expectations. At midday Thursday, Richt tweeted, “Just so everyone knows, Jeremy Pruitt is our defensive coordinator and is in the office working diligently getting ready for Kentucky!” .oembed-asset-link { background: #fff; border-bottom: 1px solid #e1e1e1; }.oembed-link-anchor { display: block; clear: both; }.oembed-link-thumbnail{ float: left; padding: 14px; }.oembed-link-thumbnail img { max-width: 78px; max-height: 60px; display: block; }p.oembed-link-title { font-size: 75%; color: #009BFF; margin: 0 14px; padding-top: 12px; font-weight:normal; text-align: left; line-height: 120%; }p.oembed-link-desc { font-size: 100%; color: #666; font-weight: normal; margin: 0 14px 14px 14px; font-family: ‘Futura Today Light’; text-align: left; line-height: 120%; } Many in the industry question whether Georgia will have the stomach to ultimately force out Richt and that it might be better for all parties involved if he chose to walk away after this season. Further complicating matters is the fact that Richt has never before willingly entertained the idea of walking away and that Georgia could potentially bring in the nation’s No. 1-ranked recruiting class next year.If Georgia were to make a change at the top, it would be a highly-coveted job, perhaps even as attractive as the opening at Southern California.McGarity, who has been Georgia’s athletics director since 2010, has never conducted a coaching search of this magnitude. He previously worked under Jeremy Foley at Florida, and it is expected he would lean heavily on Foley’s advice should he find himself in the middle of a coaching search.Multiple people told USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity that McGarity has a very high opinion of Mississippi State’s Dan Mullen from their time together at Florida. Though that does not necessarily line up with Foley’s opinion of Mullen — he was not considered a candidate for the Florida opening after last season — Georgia is a job that worries Mississippi State athletics director Scott Stricklin, according to one person with knowledge.Georgia’s search, of course, could go much wider than the SEC. Names like Jimbo Fisher, Dabo Swinney, Mark Dantonio, David Shaw, Jim Mora, Gary Patterson and James Franklin would all come up initially with other potentially available big names like Bill O’Brien certain to be linked with Georgia. There is no guarantee any of those coaches would be interested, that is the kind of list Georgia could and should pursue, according to multiple people in the industry. Then again, nothing is guaranteed at Georgia, which operates differently than other SEC programs and does not like to be viewed as a cutthroat operation. There is a good chance Georgia could win its final four games and muddle along at 9-3 with no significant victories while further falling behind SEC East rivals Florida and Tennessee. The next few weeks, and maybe even days, promise to be intense around Athens and will determine the course of potentially the next decade of Georgia football. USA TODAYThe Football Four Podcast on dream coaching candidates With Georgia all but eliminated from the SEC East race and more speculation bubbling about the future of head coach Mark Richt, the program appears to be in deep dysfunction and headed for major changes that may or may not involve Richt. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution posted a story indicating Richt has been given “a directive to fix” the issues within the program that have led to a disappointing 5-3 start and that dissension among members of the coaching staff has been at the root of many problems.USA TODAY Sports spoke with multiple people who have insight into the situation at Georgia. They spoke on the condition of anonymity and encompass all levels of the college athletics industry from well-connected supporters of the program to agents to search firms. Those conversations produced the following conclusions:► Georgia athletics director Greg McGarity favored a coaching change after last season but was overruled by president Jere Morehead. Richt was then given a contract extension. However, McGarity told USA TODAY Sports on Thursday, “There isn’t one ounce of truth to that. That is not right.”► Regardless of the ultimate decision on Richt this time, defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt almost certainly will not be back, as his relationship with Richt and Georgia administrators has grown toxic.► Georgia does not have one or two mega-boosters with the influence to make the call on Richt, but the displeasure of the Bulldogs’ high-dollar financial supporters has made its way to Morehead’s office.► If Richt stays, it will be with a coaching staff that looks very different as first-year offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer has also been viewed as a problem. It’s an untenable situation for any major program, particularly one like Georgia that should be competing for SEC titles annually but has squandered opportunity in the weakened Eastern division over the last few years.SPANNING THE SEC: Check in for the latest news, notes, scores and more for one of college football’s best conferences!last_img read more

It goes to the theory that Majestic is test-driving the colored panels/inserts idea for real game jerseys. They tried it on the WBC jerseys in 2009, and now they tried it with the BP templates in a real game. Everyone hated it then, and I don’t see anyone thinking it looked good this time either. To be fair, they had the sunrise pattern in 2013 before this new template as well. Some teams just sort of…molded their looks onto this template, especially the dual-colored jerseys the Braves and Nationals (et al) wear. Posted April 9, 2014 557 0 Well, I just bought one of the new MLB BP jerseys made by Majestic, and I chose the Dodgers model (my fave NL team, my primary team is the Mariners). Here’s my thoughts:The fabric, despite being a bit lightweight and appearing rather flimsy, is pretty sturdy, and has a vertical embossed stripe pattern on the front, and the back has mostly a mesh-like fabric. The trim on the front collar and sleeves remind me somewhat of the Dodgers 1980s road unis (even though the latter uni did not have collar trim) in a way. The jocktag looks like this: http://news.sportslogos.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/New-BP-Jock-Tag.jpg (It’s the one on the right, not the left; each team’s jocktag has its respective logo on it, and I do apologize for the blurriness of the picture), and the back collar tagging is screened on. Additionally, in the past, the MLB logo on the back of the collar was a embroidered piece, now it is a vinyl chip akin to the NFL shield used on Nike’s jerseys.Overall, it fits me well, I like the collar trim (has a very 1980s-esque look to it), and it should help me when I go out to the ballpark on a warm day. Very much worth the $80 you will pay.Interesting note: The care instructions, on the inside of the right side, there’s one unique instruction: “Save energy, line dry!”http://dodgers.mlblogs.com/2014/01/08/dodgers-2014-batting-practice-jerseys/ – Here is a blog from the Dodgers themselves about the new BP jersey; of note is that the Dodgers are one of only three teams in MLB to have a front number on their BP jerseys, which are in their standard red.And now, a pic of me wearing it: Location:City of Champions and the Pirates Posted April 9, 2014 2,227 posts 867 Share this post Members 2,894 posts 2,227 posts Posted April 21, 2014 wonderbread Posted April 9, 2014 867 SportsLogos.Net 0 1,555 wonderbread The new MLB BP jerseys (for 2014) By johnnysama, April 9, 2014 in Sports Logo News Followers 0 867 867 Link to post johnnysama johnnysama Banned 2,517 johnnysama Posted April 27, 2014 59 4,760 posts Share on other sites Members Share on other sites Members 0 Share this post The new MLB BP jerseys (for 2014) 0 13 Members Sign in to follow this   Share this post ScoffingYayap TBGKon The new MLB BP jerseys (for 2014) Moderators johnnysama Forums Home Recommended Posts 0 Posted April 9, 2014 Link to post
 382 CFL/NPB/MLB/NHL/NFL Fan Share this post Share this post Sports Logo News hormone CFL/NPB/MLB/NHL/NFL Fan hormone Link to post Favourite Logos:Vancouver Canucks current/1980s/90s era, LA Kings purple/gold and Gretzky era, Mariners 80s and current, BC Lions 1980s, and Saskatchewan Roughriders 1970s/80s CFL/NPB/MLB/NHL/NFL Fan Favourite Logos:Vancouver Canucks current/1980s/90s era, LA Kings purple/gold and Gretzky era, Mariners 80s and current, BC Lions 1980s, and Saskatchewan Roughriders 1970s/80s Share this post Location:Washington State Posted April 26, 2014 I just got the 2nd of my two BP purchases this year. I got a Cutch one and a Longoria one. My authentic game jerseys are from ’13 and older, so is this the new cool base? It feels like a regular mesh and fits tighter. The “cool base” feel is not really there. The BP material is new, but it falls under the umbrella of COOLBASE. The BP’s and the gamers aren’t made of the same material. 59 Link to post 86 I picked up a 2013 phillies bp jersey for $30…but I also had $20 off so I only paid $10 for it . Slavia? Uninfected players could continue to train, says hygienist Jágrová

first_imgDue to a positive coronavirus test with one of the footballers, Slavia prematurely terminated her training camp in Austria on Tuesday and returned to the Czech Republic. Players and other members of the Vršovice team are in home isolation.“They will be tested on Friday and depending on how the tests turn out, it will be decided what will happen next,” Jágrová said. How many other people will be tested positively will be crucial for hygienists’ decisions. According to this, the rules for the club will be either milder or stricter.“Further tests await us on Friday, then on Tuesday and the exit on August 24,” said Slavia spokesman Michal Býček. “Most of the players who can be home alone are at home. We have provided accommodation for some of them,” Býček added. The first league match is to be played by Slavia on August 23 in České Budějovice.Jágrová confirmed that an infected player who had not come into contact with others for a week had also returned from Austria with Slavia. “Contact has been limited since last week. He has been isolated since he had the disease,” said the director of the hygiene station. In general, according to Jágrová, it can be said that if the same smaller groups are still training together, they could continue to prepare in this group and it would not be necessary to completely isolate the team for 14 days.Area quarantine for the whole team is not a common practice abroad. For example, Atlético Madrid announced on Sunday that it has two players infected with covid-19. However, further tests with the remaining members of the Spanish team turned out negatively, so Atlético was able to travel to Lisbon for Thursday’s quarter-final match of the Champions League against Leipzig. Only two footballers with positive findings remained in isolation. In the Czech Republic, the chairman of the National Sports Agency, Milan Hnilička, and other representatives of this organization are negotiating with the hygienists to change the current rules. It is likely that the quarantine may not last so long.“There is general agreement to reduce the quarantine from 14 to ten days for the whole team. There is a lot of data from abroad that confirms that this is the right way to go,” the agency said.Due to this, Hnilička has met several times with the epidemiologist and now the government’s commissioner for science and research in health care Roman Prymula. The agency will also negotiate with the chief hygienist Jarmila Rážová. It is not yet clear when the changes could be approved.“I cannot estimate the fixed date when the result will be at the moment. But due to the near start of sports competitions, all parties are acting intensively so that the result is known as soon as possible,” said agency spokesman Jakub Večerka. The set conditions will then be the same for professional and amateur teams.last_img read more
