The Cavs played their second game in two nights, coming fresh off of a close game on Christmas Day in Oakland, as they travelled to Portland to take on the Trail Blazers. They were obviously tired and possibly mentally and emotionally drained from the Finals rematch the night before, and they allowed that to cause Portland to demolish them 105-76.The Blazers were without star point guard Damian Lillard, but that did not seem to phase them, as the game was never in doubt. The Cavs rested Kyrie Irving, but the whole team forgot to show up on the court, as well.Cleveland was outscored 34-12 in the first quarter, and it didn’t get any better the rest of the night.Kevin Love led the team in scoring with 13 points. LeBron James scored 12.Backup guard Allen Crabbe had a career-game for Portland, scoring 26 points, filling in for Lillard. The Cavs fall to 19-9 with the loss, but their record away from home is starting to become an issue, as the Cavs are 13-1 at home, but 6-8 on the road.Cleveland has Sunday off and will travel to Phoenix to take on the Suns Monday night. Rugby League Getting the basics right is what young Mountain Bulls rugby league club head Coach Steven aka ‘KBC’ Aaron has always emphasised on his troops. Although Aaron has little experience in the coaching department, he has proven that he will rise up to that level one day and has given his effort to lead the Bulls team in the Port Moresby Suburban rugby league competition. “Steven has committed himself to coaching the Bulls team and he has done well so far,” Port Moresby Suburban rugby league association president Boskey Koke said. The weekend’s match against the Gerehu Chalk Dust team was no exception as the Aaron-coached side ran over Chalk Dust 38-16 in a one-sided affair in round 13 of the Port Moresby Suburban rugby league men’s A grade match at the Kone Tigers oval in Port Moresby. With two more games remaining before the finals, Aaron certainly is working hard to maintain the team’s performance and take them to the grand final this year. “Well it is everyone’s dream to get your club to the grand final but we are not looking at that yet. Our aim is to play one game at a time and see where we go on from there,” Aaron said. He said the weekend’s victory was a result of the boys sticking to their game plan. “At some stage, we went off a bit but I believe the new set of jerseys was also a boost for this game and we won by a good margin,” he said. Aaron said Gerehu Chalk Dust was a very good team and they put up a good fight against our boys. “I think it’s our boys that wanted it most and came out winning. I also told the boys to get the basics right and stay focused on the game. “That is something we will still have to work on to get it right before the finals.”
By Frederick Halley… Dant, Sunshine clash promises to be electrifying TORONTO, Canada – Defending Caribbean Sensation 10/10 champions Dant are seeking to make it three in a row when they battle Sunshine in tomorrow’s eagerly-awaited Conference A final, set for the Ashtonbee number one ground, Scarborough here. The action gets underway at 09:00hrs and with a plethora of stars on both sides, it promises to be an electrifying encounter. The final, which also forms part of the Ontario Softball Cricket League (OSCL) family fun day and All Stars feature, is expected to attract a large crowd including kids of members of the league.Added to the day’s proceedings is the B Conference final with GTA Storm coming to grips with Cougars at Ashtonbee number two as well as the two consolation finals which will see Enmore clash with Rems at Ashtonbee Reservoir number one and Carr Tec and Wakenaam face off at Ashtonbee Reservoir number two. After relinquishing the title to Caribbean Sensation in 2015, when the tournament was played with white balls, Dant rebounded to lift the crown in 2016 in a closely-fought encounter with Better Hope, triumphing by 12 runs at the same venue.Riaz KadirIn last year’s final, Dant displayed their undoubted superiority over Rebels in a lopsided affair but are expected to face stiff opposition in this year’s final when they oppose a red-hot Sunshine team who have already knocked them out of the Norman Sue Bakery-sponsored 15-over tournament.Of much significance is the fact that two of Dant’s former players, Hemnarine Chattergoon and skipper Looknauth Ramsuchit, have “jumped ship” and are now members of the rampant Sunshine team who also lead the regular season (20-over) with 54 points, Dant trailing in second on 49. Sunshine have, however, played nine games to Dant’s eight.Led by Anil Mahadeo, Sunshine also includes the likes of star all-rounder Mahendranauth ‘Bobby’ Parasnauth, opener Anil Ramoutar, middle-order batsman Bernard Kartick and all-rounder Avinash Sookdeo, all capable players. Not to be outdone, Dant will pin their hopes on the hard-hitting skipper Damodar Daesrath, no-nonsense opener Farouk Hussain, Riaz Kadir, Munniram Karran the evergreen Satrohan ‘Blade’ Balkarran and Aftab ‘Maxie’ Shamshudeen who has developed into a competent all-rounder.The B Conference final featuring GTA Storm and Cougars should also be brimful of interest with the former starting as slight favourites to lift the championship trophy.GTA Storm are heavily dependent on their three overseas Guyanese stalwarts, skipper Yunis Usuf, Ramo Malone and Lloyd Rooplall, who have been creating waves since their entry into the team this season. They would, however, need help from their other players if they are to come out tops. For Cougars it has been smooth sailing in the tournament, having gained a walkover and a subsequent bye before whipping Ramblers in their semi-final clash.Captain Rakesh Budhram is confident that his charges, including key players Vishal Balram and Nishal Singh are good enough to make them victorious.

David Wagner’s side took the Belgium U21 international on a temporary basis with an option to sign him on a permanent deal after the end of the 2018/19 season.Tuesday’s edition of French newspaper L’Equipe has explained the financial details of the deal that will see the fee reach close to the above mentioned figure. The loan fee for the winger is up to €2.5m and if the Premier League outfit decide to keep him at Kirklees Stadium beyond this campaign, then they can sign him for €12.5m and therefore, the whole deal would cost close to €15m. So far, Mbenza has made only one appearance in the Premier League, during Huddersfield Town’s goalless draw against Cardiff City.by Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayForge of Empires – Free Online GameIf You Like to Play, this City-Building Game is a Must-Have. But if the real jerseys aren’t going to use mesh as body of the jersey, the replicas shouldn’t either. One thing I don’t like is how the collars don’t look anything like the actual design for teams with flywire, but they do the same thing for their basketball replicas, so I’m not really surprised. I think people’s opinion on these might change once they actually see and feel the jersey in person. I know I won’t be buying one until I get to see what they look like in person and feel what the quality of material they use to make these. It will also be interesting to see what the Limited style looks lik. I could see the MLB doing a system like that. Maybe add some color to the games. Just my .02 It’d definitely be a set schedule. There is alternate overkill right now in the MLB. The Marlins “don’t” have a gray, the Pirates “only” have a black, and teams like the Rays/A’s/etc. “only” have a gray alternate. Now it varies from teams to teams. For example, some teams would let the starting pitcher of that day to choose what top the team would wear that day. But some teams would schedule a jersey to be worn on a certain day. I’m curious to see what sort of system you guys like. If you owned an MLB team, how would you run the jersey selection system? By pitchers preferences, or set jerseys to certain dates? Or anything else? Just curious! As for me, I’d probably say have the jerseys be scheduled on a set date so a jersey wouldn’t become too repetitive or something like that. I kinda like what the Marlins did this year. Last year they wore the black jersey pretty much everyday but now this year, they’re wearing the whites on weekdays, blacks on saturday and oranges on sunday (I think), but you get the gist! All Activity RoughRiders99 Members Share on other sites I think teams should wear alternates no more than twice a week, and there should be no games at all in which both teams have alternates. Color Vs. Color and Color Vs. White are both better options than anything with gray.As long as most teams don’t adopt colored pants, I can’t see this being to big of a stab on tradition TheRicSlick If I owned a team I’d set specific dates for alternates to be worn. You could make a marketing campaign around it. For instance, I’d have the team wear throwbacks from the 70s on one given night–say June 27–and call it 70s Night. Or, I could have the team dress in black August 14 and call that day Blackout Night. I’d also take a look at the schedule, figure out when we play a rival or a good team and have the team wear special uniforms so I can declare a certain set of jerseys to be big game jerseys.I really have no comment on what the other team wears other than that I have no control over what they choose to wear. If I did know what they were going to do ahead of time I’d dress my team in any color other than the one the opposition is wearing. Also, if they’re wearing throwbacks I’d want my team wearing throwbacks from the same era.If I have any other principles on jerseys it’d be that (1) the standard home uniforms should be worn more than any other uniform and (2) the standard uniforms should be worn for national TV games. That goes not only for MLB but for all sports. These two things are important so that people can easily recognize who you are and become more familiar with our team/brand. This would be true if I owned most teams (e.g., the Twins). If I owned the Cubs, I’d probably go to about 10 times total and only on the road (or maybe I’d not even have one). I think fans making the pilgrimage to Wrigley want to see the stripes, whereas there is the Cubs don’t tend to be untouchable with their road jerseys. If I owned the Yankees, I’d go with no alt; maybe so for Red Sox, Tigers, Cubs, Cards, too.I would also make sure the alts were representative of the team’s current look. No retro-based alts like the Twins and Brewers currently wear all too often. Retros would be for the very occasional anniversary…once a year max on that.If I were the czar of MLB, I’d establish the same rule. Teams can have one alt to be worn 10% max (but no 8 home/8 road rule in case, say, the Tigers get an alt and would never wear it at home). Teams who do this should be stripped of multiple draft picks. Personally, I don’t care for their alternate blue road jersey. 557 4,436 Posted May 6, 2014 Members MLB Jersey Selection “rules” 14,934 posts 2 1 Share on other sites Members Personally, alternates don’t bother me at all. Some teams (Yanks,Dodgers,Tigers,Cards) should never need alts, but for the rest of the league, have at it as long as the colors don’t clash.
